NEW HCFA-1500 TO BE RELEASED

        As some of you are aware, the revised version of the HCFA-1500 and the CMS-1500 form (Medicare) have been approved.  Unfortunately, all versions of Medisoft prior to version 11 are incapable of supporting the new forms.

        The time period given to transition from the previous HCFA-form to the revised HCFA-form is between October 1, 2006 through April 1, 2007, in which time the current version of the form would be discontinued, and only the revised form will be used.  For the CMS-form, the transition period from the previous CMS-form to the revised CMS-form is between January 2, 2007 through March 30, 2007, in which time the previous version is discontinued, and only the revised CMS-form will be accepted. 

        Unfortunately, the only solution to this issue, if you are a current Medisoft user, is to upgrade to Medisoft version 11 (or 12 release date TBA), which will fully support the new HCFA and CMS forms.  Please understand, that this is not a push from Medisoft to upgrade your existing software, but that it is a nation wide standard in the field of medicine to transition to these new forms. It is imperative that your practice upgrades to the supported software, and we are mote than welcome to assist you in this critical transition.
